COHB Bands and Locations

Band with Tom Rye, David Bellows, James Copeland and Ben Fast

Central Oklahoma Homeschool Bands meet for rehearsal in thirteen locations spread across much of the State of Oklahoma.

COHB offers a variety of levels for your student. All bands rehearse once a week for 1 and 1/2 hours.

Beginning Band

Beginning Band is for first year students with little or no instrumental experience in playing an instrument.

Beginning Band programs are located in Ardmore, Broken Arrow, Duncan/Lawton,Midwest City, Mustang, Norman, Oklahoma City, Ponca City, Skiatook,Stillwater, Shawnee, Tri-City and Vertias Classical Academy

Intermediate Band

Intermediate Band is the band for students with at least one year of instrumental experience, either band or private instruction.

Intermediate Band programs are located in Ardmore, Broken Arrow, Midwest City, Mustang, Norman, Oklahoma City, Ponca City, Stillwater, Skiatook, Shawnee, Tri-City and other locations as needed.


Advanced Band

Advanced Band is for more experienced players. The music is at High School level

Advanced Band programs are located in Oklahoma City, Norman, Shawnee and Stillwater

Wind Ensemble

Open by audition only, the Wind Ensemble is a small group of our most advanced players.

Stage Band

The Stage Band is for saxaphone, trumpet, trombone, trap set, key board, rhythm and bass guitars

Need Help With An Instrument?

You and your student are welcome to come to Mr. Rye's home in Edmond to try out the many different musical instruments that are available. Once your student chooses an instrument, you will be faced with several decisions: New? Used? Rent? Lease? Purchase?

After the student has decided on an instrument, we can be of assistance in finding the right instrument for your student at the right price. We recommend the purchase of a good used instrument instead of purchasing a new one and can usually obtain very good instruments at great prices.

Rent/Lease to Own:

We offer good quality used band instruments to our home school families with no service charges and no interest. Contact Mr. Rye for details.

If you find a good buy on a used instrument, or if you already have an instrument, I will be happy to check it out for you to make sure that it is usable.
